Vogue Italia has apologized for an insensitive translation of the name of one of their products. To read the story in the Washington Post, click here.

Translations can’t be done in a vacuum. Neither can the translator take liberties with the text. This is a situation of a “rock and a hard” place for the translator.

At Iterotext translation services, we can help you avoid the pitfalls of inadvertently offensive translations by letting you know ahead of time what you need to change in your original material BEFORE it gets spread all over the web and your advertising department has to go into hiding!
