Difference between translation and interpretation

Interpreter Often times when I am out at networking events people assume that we are interpreters and we are NOT.  I can easily see why this is confusing.  However, I would like to set the record straight.

Iterotext Translation Services provides written translations for our clients in foreign languages.  We do not provide live interpreters to translate verbal conversations, court proceedings or for delegations.

There are many great companies around town that can handle those requests with far more expertise than what we can provide.  I have seen some amazing instantaneous translators that have impressed me with their ability to listen to what is being said and while the conversation is continuing they are already translating.  Whew…I have a hard time thinking in one language let alone two at one time.  That is a eliminate art and skill!  Hats off to the interpreters around the world!
